Deputy Clerk/Treasurer – City of Colby

The City of Colby (population 1952) is seeking a Deputy Clerk/Treasurer. 

Responsibilities include:  utility billing, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, tax collection, elections, licensing, public relations, operating office equipment and general daily city operations. 

Qualifications for this position include a high school diploma or equivalent, vocational/technical training in office management/accounting or equivalent experience preferred. Experience with Microsoft Office products and accounting programs a plus.

Notice of Flushing Hydrants

The Colby Water Department will be flushing fire hydrants October 4th to October 8th between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 3:00 P.M. Colby residents should be aware that during this period, the water in certain areas of the city may be discolored or cloudy. This is due to sediment breaking free during the flushing period that was not entirely cleared out. The colored water does not pose a health hazard, but may cause staining to laundry. If residents have any questions, please contact the Colby Water Department at 223-6615 or the Colby Clerk’s Office at 223-4435.

Looking for Citizens to serve on Board of Appeals Committee

This City of Colby is looking for citizens interested on serving on the Board of Appeals Committee. This committee meets as needed to review and make determinations on variance requests in the city. Please contact City Hall at 223-4435 if interested.
